Kebabs

- 1 pound ground lamb, turkey, pork, or beef shopping list
- 1 medium onion shopping list
- 1/2 C cilantro, parsley, or mint (or a combination) shopping list
- 1 tsp ground cumin shopping list
- 1 tsp chili powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger shopping list
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon shopping list
- salt and pepper shopping list
- 4 loaves of pita bread shopping list
How to make it
- Grate onion, either with a food processor or by hand.
- Finely chop cilantro and parsley.
- Mix together onion, cilantro, parsley, spices, and meat until smooth. Salt and pepper to taste. If the meat is too dry to hold together, add a few tablespoons of water.
- Take a large spoonful (about 2-3 tablespoons) of meat and form into a small log, about 1 inch in diameter. Repeat until all meat is used up.
- Cook the kebabs in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat, turning so that they are browned on all sides, approximately 5 minutes. Kebabs can also be pressed around skewers and grilled or broiled.
- Serve hot with pita bread.
