Ingredients
  • 1 pound mushrooms (any kind you like), sliced
  • 4 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped or sliced
  • 1/4 cup dry Sherry wine
  • 1/2 cup light cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, cilantro or another herb for garnish

Directions
  1. Clean, peel and slice mushrooms (do not wash).
  2. Heat oil in skillet on medium. Add garlic and cook until golden.
  3. Add mushrooms, mix well and let cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  4. Pour sherry over mushrooms, stir and let alcohol evaporate (about 2 minutes).
  5. Add cream to mushrooms, mix. Boil for 1 minute on medium heat, stirring constantly. Salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Arrange on a serving plate and garnish with herbs.

Hi whuebl and thanks for the visit. Yes, it sounds nice using buttermilk!! but I would not try the milk and flour version since I try not to have many carbs in my diet.

Sounds terrific! I like to stay away from cream and usually resort to buttermilk or whole milk with a flour base. Of course if you add butter, you are back where you started....
