Japanese-Style Carrot Sticks

- 1 cup rice vinegar (not seasoned) shopping list
- 1/3 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 lb. carrots, cut into 3-4 inch sticks shopping list
How to make it
- In a saucepan cook vinegar, sugar, and salt over moderately high heat, stirring occasionally until sugar is dissolved and mixture is hot.
- Put carrots in a heatproof ceramic or glass dish and pour vine20gar mixture over them.
- Marinate carrots, covered and chilled, at least 4 hours and up to 1 day.
- Makes about 4 cups
