Ingredients
  • 3 cups (8oz) uncooked rotini pasta
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 cups (8oz) shredded sharp chedder cheese
  • 1/2 lb bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled
  • 2 medium tomatoes, sliced

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350.F
  2. Lightly grease a 1 1/2-quart shallow casserole.
  3. Cook pasta according to package directions; drain and return to saucepan.
  4. Melt butter over medium-low heat in 2-quart saucepan. Wisk in flour, salt, mustard and pepper; cook and stir 1 minute. Wisk in milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently. Reduce heat and simmer 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Add cheese; stir until melted.
  5. Add cheese mixture and bacon to pasta; stir until well blended.
  6. Transfer to prepared casserole.
  7. Bake uncovered 20 minutes.
  8. Arrange tomato slices on casserole. Bake additional 5 to 8 minutes or until casserole is bubbly and tomatoes are hot.
