How to make it

  • Combine 1 cup of the flour and 1/4 cup of the sugar.
  • Add butter and blend well then press firmly in ungreased square pan.
  • Bake 15 minutes at 350.
  • Meanwhile beat eggs until light.
  • Add 1 cup sugar gradually beating constantly until fluffy.
  • Sift 1/4 cup flour and baking powder then fold into egg mixture.
  • Add vanilla, nuts and coconut then mix well.
  • Spread over baked mixture in pan and bake 25 minutes.
  • Cool and cut into squares.
