Paella

- 1 clove garlic, minced shopping list
- 1 tT olive oil shopping list
- ½ lb hot italian sausage links, casings removed and cut in chunks shopping list
- ½ lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces and wash shopping list
- 1 c uncooked rice shopping list
- 1 c onion, choppd shopping list
- 1½ c chicken broth shopping list
- 1 -8 oz can tomatoes, undrained and chopped shopping list
- ½ t paprika shopping list
- ¼ t ground red pepper shopping list
- 1/8 t ground saffron shopping list
- ½ lb medium shrimp, peeled, deveined and washed shopping list
- ½ c red pepper strips shopping list
- ½ c green pepper strips shopping list
- ½ c frozen green peas shopping list
How to make it
- Heat garlic and oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken and sausage to oil and stir until browned.
- Spoon off all but 1 tablespoon drippings from skillet.
- Add rice and onion.
- Cook, stirring, until onion is transparent and rice is lightly browned. Add broth, tomatoes and tomato juice, paprika, red pepper, and saffron.
- Bring to a boil; reduce heat, cover, and simmer 10 minutes.
- Add shrimp, pepper strips and peas.
- Cover and simmer 10 minutes, or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
