Very Old Rhubarb Pie Recipe
This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Crowers Estate in Hurst, Texas in 1984.

Ingredients
  • 4 cups diced rhubarb
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1-1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 pads butter

Directions
  1. Mix rhubarb with flour then add sugar.
  2. Pour contents into pie shell then add cinnamon, nutmeg and butter on top of rhubarb.
  3. Place upper crust on top.
  4. Bush top with milk and sprinkle additional cinnamon and sugar on top.
  5. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.

I've been using this pie recipe since I was first married! OMG did I age myself??? lol... love it..


Love rhubarb pies, this sounds great, I add a little grated orange rind to mine, makes it oh so good. Great post.


This reminds me of one my Mom used to make before we moved to the new house. sigh miss it
