White Velvet Cut-Outs Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • Sprinkles or colored sugar
  • Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 T. wate
  • 1/2 t. lemon juice

Directions
  1. Cream butter and cream cheese together.
  2. Beat in sugar.
  3. Add egg yolk and vanilla, then stir in flour.
  4. Gather dough into a ball and chill overnight.
  5. To prepare, preheat oven to 350*
  6. On a lightly floured board, roll out dough to 3/16 inch thickness.
  7. Cut into desired shapes.
  8. Place cookies on ungreased cookie sheets.
  9. Bake for 12 minutes or until edges are light brown.
  10. Cool on wire racks.
  11. Mix glaze ingredients together and spread a thin coat on each cookie, topping with colorful sprinkles or sugar.
  12. When glaze is dry, store cookies in an airtight container.

I agree with dixie....straight to the tummy, no need for an airtight container. Drool....drool.

I love cut-outs...I've often seen recipes with the cream cheese added but never tried them - guess I'm gonna have to now! Nice post, michelle!
