How to make it

  • Cream butter and cream cheese together.
  • Beat in sugar.
  • Add egg yolk and vanilla, then stir in flour.
  • Gather dough into a ball and chill overnight.
  • To prepare, preheat oven to 350*
  • On a lightly floured board, roll out dough to 3/16 inch thickness.
  • Cut into desired shapes.
  • Place cookies on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake for 12 minutes or until edges are light brown.
  • Cool on wire racks.
  • Mix glaze ingredients together and spread a thin coat on each cookie, topping with colorful sprinkles or sugar.
  • When glaze is dry, store cookies in an airtight container.

    I love cut-outs...I've often seen recipes with the cream cheese added but never tried them - guess I'm gonna have to now! Nice post, michelle!
