Braised Brazilian Beef

                    - 3 tbsp of olive oil shopping list
- 1 medium to large yellow onion chopped shopping list
- 3 large garlic cloves minced shopping list
- 2 lbs of ground chuck cut in cubes shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground coriander shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon of ginger shopping list
- 1/4 tsp of red pepper flakes shopping list
- 1/2 tsp of oregano shopping list
- 1/2 tsp of salt shopping list
- 2 10oz cans of tomatoes with green chiles shopping list
- 3 tbsp of cilantro leaves, chopped shopping list
- 2 tsp of brown sugar shopping list
- 1/3 cup of sliced green salad olives shopping list
- 3 cups of rice, cooked shopping list
- 1 1/2 cup of tiny green peas, thawed shopping list
How to make it 
                    - Heat oil in a large heavy skillet over medium heat.
- Add the onion and garlic and cook until limp.
- Remove from the pan.
- Add the beef and brown well, adding extra oil if necessary. Cook in batches in order to brown well on each side.
- Move meat and onion and garlic to slow cooker.
- Deglaze the bottom of the skillet with the tomatoes and green chiles, the juice will loosen the good stuff from the bottom of the skillet.
- Add the herbs and spices to the tomatoes. Stir a minute.
- Add to slow cooker liner.
- Add sugar and olives.
- Cover and cook on low heat 5 - 6 hours.
- Put cooked hot rice in large shallow bowl.
- Ladle braised beef over the top.
- Top with the peas.
