My Mom used to make these from our summer garden. Use only the male blossoms or you'll have no squash....and make sure there are no bees using the flower when you pick it. It will fry up nicely but nobody will probably want to eat it at your house ei... More

Ingredients
  • 12 freshly picked male squash blossoms
  • Flour for dredging
  • 2 beaten eggs for dipping
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 Tbl E.V.O.O. and 2 Tbl butter, melted in a 10" to 12 " skillet over medium heat

Directions
  1. Rinse blossoms and blot dry on paper towels
  2. Dip each blossom in egg, then in flour
  3. Place each blossom in butter/oil mixture over medium heat
  4. Sprinkle with salt and pepper
  5. Fry until golden, turning once
