Salisbury Steaks Recipe

Ingredients
  • For the patties -
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 Packet Onion Soup Mix
  • 1 Tsp Garlic Powder (eyeball)
  • 2 Tlbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 Eggs
  • 4 Tlbsp Parsley
  • 1 cup bread crumbs (plain)
  • 2 Tlbsp Butter
  • Pepper to taste
  • For the Gravy -
  • 1 medium onion sliced thin
  • 1/2 lb button mushooms quatered
  • 2 packets brown gravy mix
  • 3 cups chicken or beef stock/broth
  • 1/4 cup red wine (optional)
  • Black pepper to taste

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix all ingredients together for patties, less butter.
  3. Combine well.
  4. Form into six patties, 1/4 inch thick
  5. Melt butter in heavy bottom oven safe skillet over medium high heat.
  6. Sear patties in butter, turning once until both sides are browned.
  7. Do in patches to avoid overcrowding and remove from pan.
  8. With remaining oil in pan saute mushrooms and onion until soft.
  9. Add red wine and simmer for 1 minute.
  10. Add 2 packets of gravy mix and stock and stir until smooth.
  11. Return beef to pan.
  12. Bake pan in oven for 45 minutes until hot, bubbly and cooked through.
  13. Enjoy!
  14. Recommended sides, classic mashed potatoes and creamed corn.
