How to make it

  • mix sugar, buttermilk, butter, salt and baking soda together in a large pan.
  • cook on medium heat to a SOFT boil stage. check by dropping a small amount of the praline mixture into cold water. it should form a small ball.
  • remove from heat and add pecans and vanilla.
  • beat until it looses its glaze with a wire whip - approx 5-6 min. mixture should now look "milky".
  • turn out on wax paper and allow to cool. Yummy!
