Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Spray rectangular baking pan with cooking spray.
  • Dump undrained pineapple into pan and spread out evenly.
  • Spread cherry pie filling evenly on top of the pineapple.
  • Sprinkle cake mix evenly over the cherry and pineapple layers.
  • Cut butter into slices with a butter knife and place slices evenly over cake mix.
  • Sprinkle nuts on top.
  • Place in oven and bake for 1 hour.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature.

    Just like I remembered! It was so yummy that the ballet literally licked the pan. I have a few suggestions. First of all, I've made this twice, and I've found they now make yellow cake mixes calling for butter rather than oil. The mix made for butter worked better, in my opinion, since dump cake includes butter. Secondly, I like a lot of nuts, so I doubled the amount. Great recipe and so easy!

    I'm so glad I found this recipe. Im having people over tonight and I wanted to fix this. The recipe was not in my recipe box.
    Now I can go get the ingredients at the store and have it ready tonight.

    What size oblong pan, please? 2 or 3 quart? I remember someone bringing this to a charity meeting many years ago and it being well enjoyed.
