Indian Tacos Recipe

Ingredients

1 lb browned hamburger meat, seasoned like taco meat

1 can ranch style beans, warmed

chopped lettuce

diced tomato

diced onion

shredded cheese

hot sauce, to taste

For Fry Bread--

1 cup flour

pinch of baking powder

water

1 cup vegetable oil

Directions

For Fry Bread--

Heat vegetable oil in skillet.

Mix flour and baking powder in a bowl.

Add water to flour mixture to make a thick paste.

Add about half a cup of paste mixture to hot oil. This will make one fry bread. You should have enough paste left to do one more. This will cook like a fried pancake (but alot fluffy-er) Flip when it starts to bubble and cook the other side. Make sure this cooks all the way through. It will be a dark golden brown when done.

Plate one fry bread. Spoon meat on top. Spoon beans on top of that. Add cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and onion. Top with hot sauce, and salt and pepper as desired.

I think this recipe will be great. I have not had fry bread since attending the pow wows this summer. Making tacos out of fry bread is great and I am glad to run across a recipe.
