Pimento Cheese Cornbread Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 teaspoons butter-melted
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 12oz jar roasted red peppers-chopped
  • 1 cup plain yellow cornmeal
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg-beaten

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degees.
  2. Generously brush melted butter into a 9" baking pan or a cast iron skillet. Place in oven to heat.
  3. In a large mixing bowl,combine remaining ingredients,stir until just combined.
  4. Spoon batter into prepared pan. Bake 15-20 minutes or until top browns.
  5. Cut into squares and serve hot with additional butter.
