Warm Lettuce Recipe

Ingredients

1 iceberg lettuce

12 strips of bacon - or more

vinegar, about 1/4 cup

sugar, about 1 teaspon

pepper, about 5 turns of the pepper mill

salt (a pinch)

chili flakes, if desired, a pinch

water, about 1/2 cup

about 2 TBSP oil, if bacon does not have enough fat

or if you'd rather not eat the bacon fat and

use vegetable oil instead

Directions

cut lettuce in quarters

remove chunky bottom parts

fry bacon in skillet

remove bacon to paper towel

dispose of some of bacon fat i fdesired

add vinegar and water,

stiring all the time, scraping pan

add sugar, pepper, chili flakes,

a pinch of salt, if required

crumble bacon into bits,

put back into skillet

stir

ladle hot dressing on lettuce

serve immediately
