Lone Star State Cream of Pecan Soup

- 2 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup diced onion shopping list
- 1/2 cup celery leaves shopping list
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour shopping list
- 2 cups chicken broth shopping list
- 2 teaspoons soy sauce shopping list
- Dash of ground nutmeg shopping list
- 1 cup pecans ground fine in the blender shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups half-and-half shopping list
- 4 sprigs of mint shopping list
How to make it
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium-low heat.
- Add the onion and celery leaves and sauté for 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle in flour and gradually add the chicken broth stirring to incorporate flour.
- Add soy sauce, nutmeg and ground pecans then simmer 10 minutes.
- Stir in half-and-half and simmer 5 minutes longer.
- Remove celery leaves and discard.
- Garnish with mint sprigs.
