French Bread

- 11/2 pkgs dry yeast shopping list
- 2c warm water(105-115) shopping list
- 1Tbs salt shopping list
- 1Tbs. sugar shopping list
- 5 cups flour shopping list
How to make it
- Dissolve yeast in water. Mix salt,sugar and flour with the yeast. Knead till smooth and elastic on floured board for 5 mins. Grease bowl and place dough in bowl and turn to coat. Cover with saran. Let rise 11/4 hours
- Remove ,pound down and shape into2 to 3 loaves. Place loaves in a pan coated with cornmeal. Slash tops of loaves,brush with 1 egg white that is beaten with 1 Tbs. water. Place in cold oven,turn to 400. Bake 30-40 mins
