Ingredients

How to make it

  • Brown chops in oil with garlic. Remove chops from skillet.
  • Sauce:
  • Add oil, sherry, soy sauce, brown sugar and red pepper to skillet.
  • Place chops back in skillet, turning to cover with sauce.
  • Cover tightly.
  • Simmer on low heat about 30 minutes.
  • Remove chops.
  • Dissolve corn starch in water and add to sauce. Cook until thickened.
  • Pour over chops and serve with noodles or rice.

    I think the sauce could use some more flavor, like some garlic and ginger perhaps. It was certainly sweet and spicy, but I think some extra depth of flavor would be nice. I served this over rice, and my pork was done in 20 minutes (I used about 1/2" thick, boneless chops).

    We made this for dinner tonight, served it with stir fried Sun Luck Yakisoba noodles. OMG was it ever good, the sauce was terrific and we'll use it with other dishes. Thanks for sharing!
