My wife has had this recipe in her stash for over 30 years, but never made it. In fact it listed 'softened margarine' instead of butter. She would like to know if the pudding is instant or for cooked. Thank you.

I made this and it is really good, I used fresh peaches brewed them up made my own juice, but was really concerned as to the vanilla pudding??? Is it instante or regular box cooking pudding? I also would like to know if the dough on the bottom was to appear more like a Bisquick sort of dough? When cooled and cut it appeared a little doughy was that the effect it was suppose to be?
I also brewed some really nice Black Berrys up and put a pat of butter, a little sugar, & 1 tab. of Tapioca with them to change it also into another flavor. I made 2 of them. Peach, Blackberry. It was very Rich and tasteful but concerned as to how it really should be at the bottom or if the pudding should have been regular as I used instant and doubled the batch.
