Best Salt Meat In The South Old

- 1 pound thinly sliced salt meat shopping list
- 2 cups *homogenized* milk shopping list
- 1 teaspoon dark Karo syrup shopping list
- flour for coating shopping list
- oil for frying shopping list
- Below the directions are posted as in the original recipe shopping list
How to make it
- Mix milk and syrup
- Soak salt meat overnight in the mixture
- Refrigerate
- Drain
- Roll in flour to coat and fry in skillet filled with oil to depth of 1/2 inch
- Serve with country-fried potatoes, beans, and cornbread for a true Southern meal

Yep, that's it. Good stuff, too. My Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother ate this, fried in lard no less (as was their chicken), and lived to be 94 and 96. Strange, they never drank bottled water and used sugar in their coffee and iced tea. Wha...more
