Ingredients

1 cup broken walnuts

1 cup crushed graham wafers

1 cup coconut

In a saucepan, cook

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup margarine

1/2 cup milk

1 tsp vanilla

Icing:

1/4 cup butter

2 cups icing sugar

2 tbsp cream

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla

Whole graham wafers

Directions

Mix walnuts, coconut and crushed wafers together

In a pot, mix sugar, butter and milk. Boil 1 minute. Add vanilla and then the first mixture of walnuts and coconut.

Butter a cookie sheet, place whole graham wafers over the bottom of the cookie sheet. Spread with above mixture. Cover everything with another layer of whole graham wafers and spread on the icing.

Oh how I remember this recipe - growing up in canada - but my mom used to add marachino cherries to the recipe - which is like the orgasimic portion to the dessert!!!!! thank you for the post - the memories!!!!
