This is an excellent dish for parties because it is easy. Once it is in the crock pot just let it do its own thing. It will be ready when you are.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 to 1 inch water in crock pot or large stew pot
  • 1 pkg of shaved roast beef (I use leftovers from a 3lb to 5lb roast shredded)
  • 1 pkg onion soup mix
  • 1/4 tablespoon oregano
  • 1/4 tablespoon basil
  • 1/2 tablespoon worchestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon steak sauce (A-1)
  • 1 clove crushed garlic (or more to your taste)
  • 1/2 tablespoon mustard (I like to use dijon or grainy mustard)
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • provolone cheese slices
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 medium onion
  • pepperoncini peppers or Giardinera
  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil (EVOO works well too)

Directions
  1. Add the water to the crock pot or stew pot set on low heat
  2. add all spices and onion soup mix
  3. add roast beef
  4. cook on low for 1 hour checking every 20 minutes
  5. sautee green peppers and onions in tablespoon of butter or oil
  6. Serve on toasted garlic buttered buns with provolone cheese and sauteed green peppers and onions on top
  7. pepperoncini peppers or Giardinera to top it off
