Ingredients
  • 1-1/2 pounds ground round
  • 3/4 cup oatmeal
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • Sauce:
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Directions
  1. Combine meat, oatmeal, onion, salt, pepper, egg and milk and mix thoroughly.
  2. Pack firmly into loaf pan.
  3. Combine ketchup, mustard and brown sugar and pour over meat loaf.
  4. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

This sounds similar to what I make but I am going to try it with the red onion. This really does sound delicious. I use dry mustard instead of prepared mustard.


Dry mustard sounds good as well. I may try that the next time.


I tried this tonight and really enjoyed it - I think it will become a regular family meal as everyone has polished their plates - thanks for sharing it =)

Very tasty meatloaf. Sauce on top gives it a sweet touch. Used a double loaf pan to drip off the fat even though the hamburger was 90%. Posted pics of the double pan so others could see how it works.


Great... Wonderful sandwiches with the leftovers!
