Chicken Burger With Cardamom Yogurt Sauce

- 4-500 grams of ground chicken shopping list
- 2 spring onions shopping list
- 5 tbs chopped fresh coriander/cilantro shopping list
- 1 large green chili shopping list
- 2 cloves of garlic shopping list
- 1 tbs grated fresh ginger shopping list
- 0.5 cup natural yogurt shopping list
- 4-6 green or yellow cardamom pods shopping list
- 1 tomato shopping list
- some rocket leaves shopping list
- 4 hamburger buns (or even better, pitta bread) shopping list
How to make it
- For the sauce, rush the cardamom pods lightly to remove the seeds. Discard the pods and roughly chop the seeds (you could also use ground cardamom, but the result will be a little less interesting)
- Mix the cardamom with the yogurt and set aside
- For the burgers, chop the spring onions, coriander and chili
- Crush the garlic and grate the ginger
- Mix the ingredients above with the chicken in a bowl and until well combined
- Divide in four equally sized balls and form into burgers (it's easier if your hands are wet)
- Fry the burgers until golden and cooked though
- Coat the inside of the buns or pitta breads with the sauce, then stuff with the burgers, tomatoes and rocket
- Makes a a snack for 4 or dinner for 2. Serve with a mixed green salad if you like, or potato wedges for a more hearty meal
