Ingredients
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup semolina
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup plain Yogurt
  • 1 cup vegetable oil (i did not use it)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbs vanilla extract
  • for syrup
  • 3 cups water
  • 3 cups sugar

Directions
  1. Preheat owen 300F- 160C .
  2. Grease 3 qt - 2.8 L Pyrex set aside .
  3. Put 3 cups sugar and 3 cups water for syrup and boil for 4-5 min. set aside to chill but not cold..
  4. In large bowl mix all dry ingredients exept sugar .
  5. In stand mixer beat eggs and sugar till fluffy,
  6. turn speed on slow and add yogurt ,Oil ( i did not use any oil ) and then flour mixture.
  7. pour in greased pyrex and cook till color turn light caramelized..
  8. take out from owen and pour syrup on top, let cool complete..
  9. serv with coconut..

Sounds wonderful. I have tried to make this before & it didn't turn out right. It was too hard. Did I over it cook it,you think ?

maybe you cooked over or did not mix eggs till fluffy.. ?? when ever i make this turn out very good..

Your recipe calls for sugar in the cake (mixed with the eggs), but the list of ingredients has only 3 cups of sugar to be mixed with 3 cups of water for the syrup. How much sugar does one mix with the eggs for the cake?
Once one has "Put 3 cups sugar and 3 cups water for syrup and boil for 4-5 min"
Then you say, "In stand mixer beat eggs and sugar till fluffy" But you do not say how much sugar. I'll be regretfully using a different recipe. :(
