Ingredients
  • * 1 (6 oz) package of cream cheese
  • * 12 T. of melted butter, divided
  • * 4 T. of chopped onion
  • * 4 c. cooked chicken, cubed
  • * 1/2 T. salt
  • * 1/4 T. pepper
  • * 4 T. milk
  • * 2 (8 oz) tubes of crescent rolls
  • Option: Add broccoli or other green vegetable.

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  2. Blend cream cheese and 4 T. of melted butter until smooth.
  3. Add onion, chicken, salt, pepper and milk.
  4. Separate crescent rolls into rectangles (you should have 8) and pat seams on baking sheet.
  5. Spoon 1/2 cup of mixture onto each rectangle and then fold each rectangle, sealing the edges completely so it is a braid.
  6. Brush with remaining melted butter.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Alterations


I had a request on how to properly *Braid*...Using a knife or scissors, cut 1 inch wide strips in towards the center, starting on the long sides. There should be a solid strip about 3 inches wide down the center, with the cut strips forming a fringe down each side. Spread the chicken mixture along the center strip. Fold the side strips over chicken mixture, alternating strips from each side. Pinch or twist to seal.
