How to make it

  • Heat oven to 375. Mix flour,baking powder,salt in a medium size bowl.,set aside. Using an electric mixer on high speed,beat 1/2c of the butter in a lg. bowl for 1 min. or until creamy. Add granulated sugar and continue to beat until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs and vanilla,and beat until blended. Reduce speed to low. Gradually blen in flour mixture,then sour cream. Melt remaining 5 Tbs butter in an ovenproof 10:" non-stick skillet. Add brown sugar;stir 2 mins.
  • Add apple slices to the pan and reduce heat to med-low. Cook for about 10 mins or until tender. Let cool 5 mins.
  • Spoon batter over apples and spread to edge of pan. Bake 375 for 30 mins. or till golden brown. Cool on rack 20 mins Run knife around edge. Carefully invert onto a plate.

    Sounds good. The sour cream should make the cake tender and add a bit of a contrast to those sweet sticky apples.
