How to make it

  • In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the flour, salt and pepper.
  • Add pork, two pieces at a time, and shake to coat.
  • In a large skillet, cook pork in butter over medium heat for 3-4 minutes on each side or until juices run clear.
  • Remove and keep warm.
  • Add lemon juice and honey to the skillet; cook and stir for 3 minutes or until thickened.
  • Return pork to pan; cook 2-3 minutes longer or until heated through.

    I love recipes like this, I will try this with pork in the past I have made this with veal and it came out great.

    Very good dish the family loved it. I added Rosemary, it complemented the Thyme but then again those two often highlight each other in french culinary. Thank you very much Mmmmmmmmmmm

    I'm not a big veal eater, but it would be good with veal cutlet as well. Also, I can see a couple different sauces with this one. One would be an honey and ginger sauce, another would be an apricot reduction. A few Chanterelles sauteed in a couple tablespoons of clarified butter and olive oil or truffle oil and a splash of sherry would go nicely with this too. Purrrfect dish, simple and easy, yet elegant, refined and sophisticated.

    mbe - I have only tried it with pork, but chicken does sound good too. Thanks for the idea, I am definitely going to have to try it.

    Oh WOW!!! I love schnitzle and this looks delicious!! Have you tried it with meat other than pork? I'm thinking some chicken breast escallopes might be nice (because that's what I got in the fridge :))
