How to make it

  • Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy
  • Add milk alternately with the sifted dry ingredients
  • Add the nuts, cherries, vanilla and cherry juice
  • Fold in egg whites
  • Bake in a greased 10" tube pan for 45 to 60 minutes
