From WIlliams-Sonoma..This was created in the 40's at Shannon Airport in Ireland. An American newspaper reporter passed on the recipe at his local bar, the Buena Vista in San Francisco. The original doesn't include Creme de Menthe but it adds a colorful touch.
Ingredients
- 3 tbls. Irish whiskey shopping list
- 1 tbls. simple syrup (Recipe posted) shopping list
- 4 oz. hot coffee shopping list
- 2 tbls. whipped cream shopping list
- 1 tsp. creme de menthe shopping list
How to make it
- Pour whiskey, simple syrup, and coffee into Irish coffee mug and stir
- Spoon whipped cream onto coffee mixture
- Drizzle with Creme de Menthe
