Jetts Grandma Dudas Chocolate Cake Recipe

- 2 - 1 oz. squares unsweetened chocolate shopping list
- 1 Cup boiling water shopping list
- 1 stick margarine shopping list
- 2 Cups granulated white sugar shopping list
- 2 Cups plain all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 Cup buttermilk shopping list
- 2 eggs(beaten) shopping list
- powdered sugar for glaze/frosting shopping list
- water shopping list
How to make it
- Grease and flour 2 - 8 inch cake pans. Line pans with waxed paper.
- Place the squares of chocolate, boiling water and margarine in a saucepan. Heat until chocolate is glossy. Place mixture in a bowl. Add granulated sugar and sift in the flour, baking soda and baking powder. Mix alternately with the buttermilk. Mix well. Add eggs. Mix well.
- Pour batter into prepared cake pans. Place cake pans in the center of the oven making sure pans are not touching. Bake for 25 - 30 minutes or until toothpick test shows clean. Mix about 2 cups powdered sugar and water to make a glaze. Remove cakes from the pan and let cool. Don't forget to remove the wax paper! Place one of the cake layers on a plate and put the glaze/frosting over it. Place the other cake over that and pour on the glaze. Enjoy!!

Sound like a very moist cake. Bet it would be good with a chocolate fudge frosting also. Great post.
