  • Marinara Sauce
  • 2 TBL Olive Oil
  • 1 ½ Cup Chopped Onion
  • 2 Clove Garlic, minced
  • 2 28 oz Cans Diced Tomatoes in Juice
  • 4 TBL Chopped Fresh Basil
  • Meatballs:
  • 2/3 Cup Fresh Breadcrumbs
  • 3 TBL Milk
  • 1/3 Cup Grated Parmesan
  • ¼ Cup Finely Chopped Onion
  • 3 TBL Chopped Fresh Basil
  • 1 Lg Egg
  • 1 Clove Garlic
  • ¼ tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • ½ Lb Sweet Italian Sausage
  • ½ Lb Hamburger
  • Ziti:
  • 1 Lb Ziti

Directions
  1. Marinara Sauce (start 30 min. before baking meatball):
  2. Heat oil on medium low.
  3. Saute onion until golden.
  4. Add garlic for 1 minute.
  5. Add tomatoes and basil, and bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
  7. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Meatballs:
  9. Preheat over to 350.
  10. Oil baking sheet.
  11. Mix breadcrumbs and milk, and let stand for 5 minutes.
  12. Mix in parmesan, onion, basil, egg, garlic and pepper.
  13. Add sausage and hamburger. Mix well.
  14. Form into 1 ¼" balls.
  15. Bake until light brown, about 30 minutes.
  16. Cook ziti according to package directions while meatballs bake.
  17. Top cooked ziti with sauce and meatballs.
