Ingredients

Ingredients:

150 g flour

20 g sugar

1 pinch of salt

1 pinch of baking powder

50 g butter

1 egg yolk

100 g sour cream

For the filling:

500g quark

4 eggs

50 g butter

200 g sugar

24 g vanilla

lemon zest

1 1/2 groat

Directions

Mix flour with butter, baking powder and salt. Add egg yolk and sour cream and knead a dough. Butter a cake form and place dough into it. Mix 4 egg yolk with butter, sugar, add quark vanilla and lemon zest, groat. Beat egg white and mix with quark mixture. Pour into the cake form and bake on 180°C for 40 minutes.

There are lots of places to buy it if you're in Hungary or Germany. However, if you're an American, I recommend checking out the site germandeli.com , as they have quark and loads of other interesting German (and some other nationalities') foods and household stuff. They are based out of Houston, and it's cheaper and easier than ordering from Europe... and what a selection! Some towns have a European or specialty grocer where you can find quark, too, but if you haven't got one in your area, this would work. Enjoy making tasty stuff with quark.
