SWEET BHOR Recipe
bhor ,an indian type of dried berry which is boiled and placed in a thickish syrup yummy!!!can become addictive l.o.l :)

Ingredients
  • 500 grams BHOR (available at indian spice shops )
  • 750 ml vinegar
  • 750 ml water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 cups brown / white sugar
  • 1or2 TBS crushed red chillies (DRIED)

Directions
  1. wash bhor thoroughly
  2. place in pot cover with water and boil until done
  3. rinse and drain
  4. make a slightly thick syrup by dissolving the sugar in the water and vinegar add the salt and crushed red chillies (dried)
  5. add the drained bhor and simmer on low heat until nice and thick
  6. ENJOY!!! ESPECIALLY FOR MY FRIEND TINA FROM PRETORIA !!!

What would you put this on, Mumtaz? rice maybe? it sounds really good to me.


I think I came across Bohr somewhere here in Egypt..So interresting Mumtaz.

Mumtaz, your recipes are so intriguing and exotic but where will I get the ingredients?!?!? lol I really love the sound of this and will try my best to get Bhor from the spice shops in the Indian quarter over here. Wish me luck ;)
