Strawberry Poppy Seed Coffeecake

- 2/3 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter softened shopping list
- 2 teaspoons grated lemon peel shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 2 tablespoons poppy seeds shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 cup dairy sour cream shopping list
- Filling: shopping list
- 2 cups fresh strawberries shopping list
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 2 teaspoons flour shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg shopping list
- Glaze: shopping list
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar shopping list
- 1 teaspoon milk shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 then grease and flour a spring form pan and set aside.
- Beat sugar and butter until light and fluffy then add peel and egg and beat 2 minutes at medium.
- Combine flour, poppy seeds, baking soda and salt.
- Add to butter mixture alternately with sour cream.
- Spread batter over bottom and up sides of prepared pan making sure batter on sides is 1/4” thick.
- Combine all filling ingredients then spoon over batter and bake 50 minutes.
- Cool slightly on wire rack then remove sides of pan.
- Combine powdered sugar and enough milk for desired consistency then drizzle over warm cake.
