A recipe from a friend in Maine. His grandmother made them for him as a child and they are now a featured snack at his guest house. I've added molasses for a chewier texture.

These were good, but too stiff to add the full amount of oats into the batter. I think next time I make these I'll add just 1/2 cup AP flour and the full amount of oats and see what happens. Maybe cut back on the sugar a bit too, they spread a fair bit. Good recipe though, I like the added syrup idea (I used golden).
