How to make it

  • In non metallic bowl, mix together Worcester sauce, egg, mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, dijon mustard, parsley, paprika and cayenne pepper. Old Bay seasoning and salt.
  • Whisk until smooth.
  • Using a spatula, gently fold in bread crumbs, diced red pepper and crab meat. Hand form crab cake mixture into patties 2-3 inches in diameter.
  • Coat each side with fine bread crumbs and place on a cookie sheet or other shallow tray lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
  • Place 2 oz of clarified butter into a saute skillet and heat until it sizzles. Carefully place crab cakes in skillet and cook each side until golden brown. Do not crowd the skillet.
  • Hold cooked cakes in a 350 degree oven while cooking the rest of the cakes. Serve with Wasabi sauce or cocktail sauce of your choice.

    My east coast family and friends enjoyed this recipe. Husband said 4 forks, friend said 5 forks and Mom my picky eater ate it all so I am giving this 5 forks. My first time ever making crab cakes, and after some of the disasters I have seen experienced crab cake makers have I am going to say this is a beginners user friendly recipe. Follow as written and you will be the star of the show. 03 30 2014

    I made your old bay crab cakes tonight for dinner. It was really great, but I think I started my heat out too much. They fell apart easily. Good news though. My family ate every crumb!!! I loved it too. Thanks!!
