Cranberry Orange Oatmeal Bread From 1969

- 1 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 3/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 cup Quaker Oats(quick or old fashioned, uncooked) shopping list
- grated peel or 1 orange shopping list
- 3/4 cup chopped cranberries(I wonder if craisins would work?!) shopping list
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil shopping list
- 1 egg, beaten shopping list
- 1/3 cup fresh orange juice shopping list
- 1/2 cup milk shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F . Grease & flour loaf pan
- Sift together flour, salt. balking powder and sugar in medium sized bowl. Stir in oats, grated orange peel and chopped cranberries.
- Add oil, egg, orange juice and milk; stir only until dry ingredients are
- moistened.
- Pour batter into greased loaf pan
- Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour or until a cake tester inserted comes out clean.
- Cool on wire rack for 10 minutes.
- Remove from pan; cool thoroughly.
- Wrap cooled bread and store one day before slicing.
- To make sandwiches, slice, spread with softened cream cheese and put together sandwich style.

Yummo, this sounds so good. I am always making something with oatmeal in it. We try to eat it everyday. This is a keeper, thanks.

Sounds great Jett. The orange and cranberries will make a tasty bread. Also, I like that it doesn't have a ton of sugar. I'm saving this recipe. Thank you for posting.
