Homespun Meat Pie Recipe
This is another Kraft Recipe from 1976..... their fall recipes.... Its so Irish....Reminds me of a Sheperds Pie.

Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef or chuck
  • 4 oz can mushrooms, drained
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 2 cups chopped potatoes, cooked
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 pound velveeta, cubed
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions
  1. Combine meat, mushrooms, egg, onion, bread crumbs and seasoning; mix lightly.
  2. Press meat mixture onto bottom and sides of a 9 inch pie plate.
  3. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.
  4. Mash hot potatoes with milk.
  5. Stir in cheese, parsley and other salt.
  6. Remove meat shell from oven; reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees.
  7. Drain meat shell; fill with potato mixture.
  8. Return to oven; continue baking 10 minutes.
