How to make it

  • Brown beef till no longer pink; drain fat
  • Add rice and finish browning
  • Add the remaining ingredients
  • Heat to boiling; stir well and cover
  • Simmer 20 minutes or until most of liquid is absorbed
  • Garnish with dollops of sour cream

    Nov 24/16 This is a fantastic recipe. Fast to pull together and perfect for a busy day. I used a combination of ground beef and ground pork for this recipe. I also used long grain rice. I did cut it back to 1 cup and left the liquid alone. You could also do the 1 1/2 cups but I would suggest that you bump up the liquid to 3 cups. The only thing I would suggest is check the level of your curry powder. I used medium curry at the full amount which was great for us. But if you are a first time for curry powder I would suggest mild. Will be making again for sure.

    Just made it and it tastes amazing...I substituted the mushrooms for mushroom soup and a lil' bit more curry :-) Thanks for a great recipe!!

    I made this last night and the family loved it! I was missing a couple of things so I made some substitutions - tomatoes for the mushrooms, chicken broth for beef broth, buckwheat groats for rice. It was a nice meal served with some steamed broccoli w/ garlic. Thanks so much - quick and easy!
