Simmered Sauerkraut

Simmering the sauerkraut for several hours makes it melt-in-your-mouth tender.Juniper berries gives the dish a distinctive flavor but if you can't find them ,omit them.
Ingredients
- 3 lbs. sauerkraut drained shopping list
- 31/2c chicken broth shopping list
- 1 medium yellow onion,chopped shopping list
- 1tsp. juniper berries shopping list
- 1/2 tsp fresh ground pepper shopping list
How to make it
- In a medium saucepan with a lid,combine the sauerkraut,chicken broth,onion,juniper berries and pepper. Bring to a boil,then reduce to low. Cover and simmer 2 to 3 hours. Serve with pork roast,chops or ribs.
