Simmering the sauerkraut for several hours makes it melt-in-your-mouth tender.Juniper berries gives the dish a distinctive flavor but if you can't find them ,omit them.

This is very similar to a recipe of mine. I add 1 head of shredded cabbage and 1 clove minced garlic to the mix. Thanks for the post!
