How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Cream together sugar, eggs and shortning.
  • Sift dry ingredients and add to the creamed mixture.
  • Add buttermilk, vanilla and squash, and stir well.( the amount of buttermilk used depends on the moisture in the squash., better too much than too little)
  • Pour batter into lined tins and bake 15-20 minutes.Frost with your favorite...or not. : )
