Parisian Orange Cookies

- 1 tbsp coarsely grated orange rind shopping list
- 1/2 cup water shopping list
- 1/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 tbsp sherry flavoring (I used sherry) shopping list
- 1 1/4 cups flour shopping list
- 1 tbsp baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 375F
- Blend orange rind, water and 1/4 cup sugar in saucepan, boil gently over medium heat 10-15 minutes until mixture is thin syrup.
- Cream butter, 1 cup sugar and sherry until fluffy.
- Sift together dry ingredients.
- Stir syrup then dry ingredients into creamed mixture. Mix thoroughly.
- Roll into 1" balls. Place 2" apart on lightly greased baking sheet.
- Flatten with bottom of greased glass dipped in sugar.
- Bake about 8 minutes.
- Makes 4 1/2 dozen cookies
