How to make it

  • Preheat oven on 350F.
  • Place potatoes, onion and turnip slices into a greased baking dish, making alternate layers of potatoes and tunip, with an occasional slice of onion.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Fill the baking dish with milk until the veggies are nearly covered.
  • Place a large lump of butter on top.
  • Bake for 45 minutes.

    I love this dish...I cook potatoes, turnips and rutabegas together.... then mash them up like cream potatoes.... Oh so good....

    I think you might be making a mistake in TELLING your family that there's a turnip in this dish! If my family only KNEW the yummy stuff that I "sneak" into our food! This looks earthy and wonderful, thanks for sharing!
