How to make it

  • Fry bacon until crisp.
  • Combine vinegar, sugar, salt and onion in the bacon fat.
  • Add crumbled bacon.
  • Heat well thoroughly.
  • Toss cabbage in the hot dressing.
  • You can add parsley to cabbage, if you want to.

    I often braise cabbage with cider vinegar and a little sugar. It's one of my favorite ways to cook cabbage. Your recipe sounds great with the addition of onion, celery and crispy bacon. Can't wait to try this. (My husband will love it.)
