Dandelion Wine

- 1 gallon fresh dandelion blossoms shopping list
- 1 gallon water shopping list
- 2 t freshly grated ginger shopping list
- 8 whole cloves shopping list
- juice and zest of 4 orange shopping list
- 4T winemaking yeast shopping list
- 8 pounds panela sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Combine the dandelion, water, ginger, cloves and orange juice and zest in a large pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Strain, add the sugar, return to the pot.
- Bring the syrup to a boil, reduce heat and leave it at a high simmer for 30 minutes.
- Remove from heat. When still warm but nearly room temperature, add the yeast and mix thoroughly.
- Put in a big crock and let it sit for two weeks.
- Skim and discard any foam.
- Pour into bottles and cork.
- Age for 6 months.
