TREACLE TOFFEE

Have made this all my life - even whilst still at school, where we sold some in the playground to friends. A great favourite with m y Son, who still makes it himself to this day. good at any time, especially Halloween
Ingredients
- 2 lbs. brown sugar shopping list
- 2 lbs. Black Treacle shopping list
- 1/2 lb. margarine shopping list
How to make it
- Put all ingredients together into a pan, allow to dissolve slowly, stirring all the time.
- Bring mixture to boil and allow to boil for 5 minutes, again stirring.
- Test a drop of mixture in a saucer of cold water for Brittleness
- When o.k. Turn into a greased bakin g tin and allow to set and go cool.
- When almost set, mark squares or oblongs with a knife, cuting right through the mixture.
- When perfectly set it may be broken into pieces
