Prize Winning Coconut Pound Cake Recipe

Ingredients

3 cups sugar

3 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature

6 eggs

3 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1 8 ounce carton sour cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon almond extract

1 6 ounce package frozen coconut

Directions

In mixer bowl with an electric mixer, cream butter and sugar unfil fluffy

Add eggs, one at a time beating well after each addition

Mix flour, salt and soda together in a bowl

Add to creamed mixture, a little at a time

Stir in sour cream

Beat well

Add flavorings

Stir in coconut

Pour into a greased and floured 10 inch tube pan

Bake for 1-1/2 hours at 325 degrees (adjust to your oven)

Cool for 10 minutes in pan

Remove from pan to wire rack

Delicious, and best if made the day before

I don't know if I'm missing it entirely, but where in the directions does it instruct when/how to add the coconut to the batter? And if the instructions aren't clear ... how did this recipe rate 5 stars, not once, but six times??? Another prime example of how seriously flawed the so-called "rating" system is on this site.
