Recipe from Carolina Country Kitchen. I like these meatballs better with Tony Romas Blue Ridge Smokies Sauce. See the recipe listed in my recipes.

Ingredients
  • Meatballs:
  • 1 1/2 lb ground chuck
  • 1 1/2 lb ground turkey
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1/4 t garlic powder
  • 2 t salt
  • 1/2 t black pepper
  • 2 t chili powder
  • 1 medium onion, chopped and diced
  • 1 c of oatmeal
  • 1 c saltines, finely crushed
  • Finger Lickin’ Sauce:
  • 2 c catsup
  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 1/2 t garlic powder
  • 1/4 c chopped onion
  • 1/8 t cayenne pepper

Directions
  1. Mix together ground chuck and turkey, set aside.
  2. Mix remaining ingredients; then add ground meats.
  3. Form ingredients into 1–1 1/2-inch balls.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or until firm.
  5. These may be frozen at this point when cooled.
  6. Sauce:
  7. Simmer in crockpot until flavors are blended.
  8. Add meat balls and let sauce be absorbed by the meat balls before serving.
  9. Makes 66 1 1/2" meatballs which serves 3 each.
